Subunidad de Bioinformática y Gestión de Datos
Esta subunidad (Bioinformática y Gestión de Datos (BIOGEDA), Bioinformatics and Data Management (BIODAMA)), integrada en la Unidad de Epidemiología del Cáncer y Ambiental, tiene como principales líneas de investigación:
- Diseño y desarrollo de instrumentos para la obtención de información y transmisión de la misma en la investigación epidemiológica.
- Integración de fuentes de información y datos epidemiológicos
- Bioinformática en el contexto de la epidemiología molecular/genética.
- Infraestructuras de computación, almacenaje y transferencia de datos en salud.

Los objetivos principales de esta subunidad son:
- Prestar apoyo en diseño y gestión de bases de datos y aplicaciones para dispositivos móviles/aplicaciones web
- Mantener los servidores de información de enfermedades crónicas y de mortalidad con los que cuenta el CNE (Servidor de Información Epidemiológica on-line “ARIADNA” (https://ariadna.isciii.es/), Servidor de Información Epidemiológica on-line “RAZIEL” (https://raziel.isciii.es/).
- Dar soporte técnico y logístico a la investigación en enfermedades crónicas desde un punto de vista genético y bioinformático (Gestión y desarrollo de aplicaciones de anotación para marcadores genéticos (SNPs, MicroRNA, etc) y extracción de información de estos, Tools de recodificación de identificadores de marcadores y cruces de bases de datos genómicas y representación de datos genómicos).
- Investigar y desarrollar métodos relacionados con instrumentos para la obtención de información y transmisión de esta en la investigación epidemiológica, la integración de fuentes de información y datos epidemiológicos y las infraestructuras de computación, almacenaje y transferencia de datos en salud.
